Peer Notetaking

Thank you for your interest in becoming a DAC Notetaker!

Notetakers play a crucial role in supporting students with notetaking accommodations to have equitable access to course material provided during class lectures. As a notetaker, you are paid by the DAC to share your notes with the eligible student after each lecture by uploading them digitally to the myDAC portal.

DAC Notetakers are hired each quarter as needed and on a first-come, first-served basis. Notetakers are compensated $19.79/hour for up to 5 hours of in-class notetaking per class each week.

How to Become a Notetaker:

If you are interested in becoming a DAC notetaker, please fill out our online Notetaker Application at your earliest convenience.

After filling out your name and Western ID, you will be prompted to enter the 5-digit CRNs for the classes you are enrolled in. Please make sure to enter the CRNs for any of the courses you are enrolled in that you would be interested in becoming the notetaker for.

If any of your CRNs match with one that has a confirmed need for a notetaker, the DAC will contact you via email to offer you the position and inform you of the next steps for onboarding and being officially assigned. Note that the DAC cannot guarantee that any of your CRNs will require a notetaker for the quarter.

You may also hear directly from your instructor that a peer notetaker is needed in their class. If this is the case, please email DRSNotes@wwu.edu or stop by the DAC in Wilson Library 170 as soon as possible to express your interest. Please make sure to provide us with your name, the name of your instructor, and the CRN for the course.

*Please note that because students with notetaking accommodations may withdraw from a course or terminate their use of notetaking accommodations at any point during the quarter, DAC notetaking positions are not guaranteed to last the duration of the quarter.
